May 7, Today was a decent day to be fishing.It was beautiful weather. There were lots of fish caught on the north side including a nice 20"flounder along with lots of sea mullet.Big blues are still being caught also I'm told there were a couple of red drum north of Frisco.The bait of choice now is shrimp and blood worms for the seamullet and bunker for the drum and blue fish.We have fresh bait so stop by and good luck. |
May 6, BAD NEWS, The park service has decided to close the point, bodie island and parts of Ocracoke to beach driving because of bird nestings
We need you to get on the phones and email to all the congressmen you know to get something done right away or we may lose the beach driving completely. Iunderstand this is because of a tern or a skimmer which there are plenty of here on the outer banks. They have survived forever with the traffic why all of a sudden now they want to stop the driving. All because of the tree huggers and the environmentalist We need your help immediately Ollie |
May 5, Little rain yesterday but cleared by the afternoon butt I did not see much going on . Rode the beaches to the point and then went on in Frisco and only saw one skate caught. Over the weekend there was a 60 pound black drum taken on the point. This week with the good weather coming we are looking for the fishing to pick up so come on down and enjoy yourself ollie |
| 5-2-08 Bluefish continue to be taken all along the beach with a good number 30" or more. Also at least two 50" drum caught near the point. Tomorrow appears to be a repeat of today's weather with temps in the mid 70's and a southwest breeze so come on down and give it a try. |
May 1, Today the big blues were biting mostly cut bait at the point .A 50" red drum was caught this evening at the point.Anglers were catching blues all along the beaches seamullet were plentiful north of the point with afew spot and a couple of flounder just big enough to keep.They are catching big blues on Ocracoke also we have lots of fresh bait so stop in and see us.If you don't need bait stop in and say hi! Aprr 30, There were more blues taken and Anna hag a small puppy and also were catching some sea mullet on fresh shrimp. One lady was West Va. had some nice blues , so far the hottest spot has been false point off of ramp 55. There is a tournament starting tomorrow on Ocracoke and hopefully those folks will get some good fishing in. The weather is really suppose to be nice for them so come on down for a beautiful weekend. Apr 29, The blues are running,Lynn Pendelton landed a 12lb. 35" blue and a few taylor blues at false point.Seamullet and puffers are being caught also along with a few flounder.We have N/W wind 10 to 15 mph.The sun is shining,were looking for a nice week and weekend of fishing. have a good day see ya soon. | 4-28-08 The weekend was very good with many different species being caught by tournament anglers and others including several nice bluefish and a striper. The beach is less busy today with reports of a few sea mullet and blowtoads taken. |
Apr 26, Ther were several bluefish caught close to 12-14 pounds yesterday both near the point and at false point at hatteras inlet. This is good because we have not had any lately this size. Today is the 4plus tournament so hopefully they will be rewarded with some nice fish. If you get a chance please feel free to call or come down for a visit. April 24, Today the winds out of N/E 5to10mph sunny they are catching small blues,puffers, sea mullet ,and a few keeper flounder one 18" inches long were landed near the point.There's alot going on here this weekend the 4plus tournament,bike week, and the pow wow in Frisco.Ollies son Ricky is being inducted in the Virginia Hall of Fame this weekend so if you stop in and he's not here thats where he'll be.Congradulations Ricky! April 23, Today started with rain but has turned into a beautiful day.They are catching blues everywhere with a few seamullet and puffers in the mix.Bass pro Fish Fisburne is coming to Dillons Corner Sat. Apr, 22, Just talked to a fellow in here who was fishing this am in all this rain. He had some skates, sharks and one 3 pound blue. He also saw a puppy drum caught, but then he decided the rain was too much.Jay was talking with some guys yesterday that had been here a week and they had filled their coolers with sea mullet, puffers and some small blues for a good week of fishing. rain shoud be out of here by thurs so we are looking for a beautiful weekend of fishing.

April 20, Today the winds out of the S fishing has picked up with blow toads ,seamullet,keeper flounder,croaker and some blues.We have the 4plus tourney with bass fisherman Fish Fishburne signing autographs in here on Saturday April 26.He'll be riding around on the beach during the tournament talking to anglers and hanging out.So get down here this weekend and see him.We have plenty of fresh bait. |

April 17, Fishing is getting better everyday.Some black and red drum have been caught ,also blowtoads,seamullet,and nice size blues. Tomorrow the winds will shift and come out of the SW which should bring more fish.On the down side Ollie's Mother passed on Tuesday .Our condolence to him and his family.On the up side we can still drive on the beach.There are some provisions though.We should hear more come Monday. |

April 14, Just talking with Keyth Pannell from Sylva NC His crowd this weedend had over a hundred small sharks but also had some good fish they being some sea mullet ,puffers and today had a nice sheephead so fish are begining to move. APRIL 13, Fishing is getting better every day,today I caught some puffers and seamullet down in hatteras on the sound just up from the inlet.They have the inlet roped off for plovers nesting, but said if they don't see them in the next few days they will open it back up.I was catching them with shrimp.A few small flounder were caught along with some taylor blues.We're still catching shark and skate,but the fish are starting to show up.Stop in for your fresh bait. |
April12, Fishing is starting to get better.There were some nice blues caught yesterday along with some flounder I saw a 16"caught at the point.With the S/W winds for the next two days we should have some good fishing. |

Apr 11, Has not been much to report lately due the winds and cold weather. But today is going to be in the 80's with a se wind so maybe it will help bring the water temp up. It also may bring some showers tomorrow. We just received some pretty bait so if you are coming down stop in. Hopefully the weather will start cooperating now and we can get into some fish

Apr 8th, Sunday there were some blues caught and some keeper puppy drum on the south side of the point. But yesterday and today the wind has gone back to the ne and it is cold and windy , not good for the fishing.

Mar 22, Yesterday not much going on did hear of a few sharks and a couple of puffers but nothing to get excited about. Today the wind is sw which I said yesterday is what we need to bring some wrm water to the beach. So hopefully we will have a good bite tonite or this afternoon.

There is a rally as I am typing this, There are hundreds of trucks and thousands of people on the point now showing their support for keeping the beaches on Hatteras Island open for driving and fishing. I would say thay 98% of the people on this Island depend on you people for our livelihood and we appreciate it so give us your support

Mar 21, There were sharks and skates this morning in front of the motels here in Buxton The wind is still out of the N but we are supposed to get a shift tonight to the sw which will help warm it up and maybe we will get some fish. Do not forget to call your senators about the closing of the beaches. This a federal judge trying to get the beaches closed so we need help from Wash. DC. Anyone a friend of Bush maybe he could help Got an email from a guy the other day saying he was not coming back down if the beaches were going to be closed I wonder if he was thinking that the people here were not trying to do anything about it anyway we are doing everything we can but we still need your help

Mar 19,Several puppies and some small bluefish showed up over the weekend This coming weekend should improve with the warm weather that is coming. Should be a beautiful weekend.water temp in the ocean yesterday was 54 and should be up some more which will help bring the fish to the beach. temp in the sound however is only 50.8 today so probably the best fishing will be on the ocean side.
If you are here on the 27th at 6:30 pm there will a meeting concerning driving on the beaches at the fessenden center which is right behind Dillons Corner so if you are here please try to attend

Feb 17, Well its cold here again and the fish are not cooperating Just talked with some fellows from Tn. they were on ramp 34 in Avon yesterday and saw small blues in the surf but they did not catch any. It is very windy today with the wind coming out of the north so we probably will not get any fish today. Just got my order of Saltiga rods in and they are pretty and very light and they throw med to heavy so wheen you get here stop in and have a look.
Also very important for you to get on the phone and call your senators and reps to keep our beaches open for 4 wheeelers.

Mar 10,There were a few puppies on the beach yesterday along with plenty of sharks have not heard much today however there are folks out fishing. Still do not know what is going to happen to our beaches because odf a federal judge in Elizabeth City all we can do is wait and hope someone will step up to the plate and not let our beaches be closed by these fools ollie |

Mar 5,Eddie Oaks of the Quarterdeck resturant caught some small blues and some sharks at Hatteras Inlet yesterday whaich is a good sign that the water is warming up. The small boaters have been slaying the drum in the sound most of them are in the slot that you can keep. Everyone says when they see them there are huge schools one crowd said they caught and released over twenty fish

| Tip Frozen bunker I have tried frozen bunker before but when thawed out it would almost fall off the hook.Bruce of Sam Rust seafood told me how once the caught the bunker it was immediately placed in a brine solution on the boat once this was done they would flash gfreeze the fish. I was leary ay first but we tried one and Kevin Mcabe caught a nice puppy and a few blues When it thawd it was still very firm and fishable.Now we try to keep some on hand in case no fresh is available we will have some bait for you. so come on down or give us a call cl |

Dec 20, The Trout fisherman continue to catch most of the stripers, had a 26 lb. one caught beside my baits this morning, it looked like a real blast on very light tackle. A few small Specks was what most the rest of us could produce. There was a few Puppy Drum caught around the point area yeserday and I lost a nice Striper there (always check your knots and line). As I was typing, Hatteras Hattie brought in a nice 3 lb. Flounder. TuneAFish
Dec 17,Not alot to report there were a few stripers taken at Oregon Inlet but nothing to speak of here talked with someone that talkes with some commercial boaters in Corolla where out of three boats there was one fish So not only here but the entire beach is slow but they are moving down and this cold front should push some stripers in cl call will be at pops today because of no fish ollie
Dec 16, There have been some nice stripers caught along the north beaches one was 68 pounds there is a rumor that there is a big school on the way down and with the winds we had last night there will soon be here also there have been some larger drum taken fron the point. Lots of folks yesterday went up to Oregon inlet which brings back some good memories to me so give me a call. Dec 1, The rush is over and the Fish are beginning to come out to play. Nice bits of Big Sea Mullet around Avon, Specks in that area also and to the South, Pups scattered around everywhere and the usual Blue Fish. The Big news is that there were about a dozen stripers caught in the Striper tournment. Yes Ollie that was Stripers not Strippers. NOV 22, Happy Thanksgiving to everyone Having some decent fishing here wish you were here also heard ther was a 10 pound spec taken near Frisco pier the other day weighed in one this am that was 3 pounds the black drum are still in abundance along with the small blues plenty of puppies at Hatteras Inlet one of our buddies said at one time it was a puppy on every cast WOW every now and then we are getting some nice sea mullet Leon has been going out in the mornings and getting a nice catch. Nov 21, Fishing continues to be a good mixed bag, with Sea Mullet, Speckled Trout, Black Drum, Red Drum and all the Bluefish that you want to FEED. We have plenty of Fresh Bait to Feed them.

Also there were plenty of small blues and sea mullet with some black drum mixed in So fishing is very good with a good mixture. so make some plans for this holiday weekend to come on down and have some nice weather and some good fishing as Chester says we will leave the light on for you. Nov. 13, There were plenty of puppy drum on the beaches across from my cottages on cottage lane they were about 10 caught and behind the motels in buxton there were more caught. Also there were some caught in the hook on the south side of the point. Lots of black drum many on the small side but a few up near 15 pounds also puppies at hatteras inlet along with some decent sized blues. NOV 12, Thanks to all the vets that make all of this possible. There have been some specs being caught along the south beach along with the blues .There were some 2-4 pound blues at Hatteras Inlet. Everyone that has been in this am has talked about catching fish even though they are on the small size they are plentiful.
On the sad side of the weekend Al Mury lost his struggle against cancer and his service is this am at the catholic church here in Buxton ollie
NOV 8, I guess you know there is a tournament this weekend The Anglers Tournament but the good news is there are plenty of blues and puppy drum all over the beach, One team had plenty of points on small blues My wife team is second in the womens team is second place and all they caught were blues. There were several 25 inch drum taken do not know of any big ones The weathger is great so come on down and catch some of thse blues while they last if not think fishing and come when you can HAVE A GREAT DAY OLLIE
