This morning was rainy and it cleared up around 11am. This afternoon has been hot again. There are reports of Spanish Mackerel, Sea Mullet and a few Flounder being caught today. We have some fresh mullet for cut bait. Tomorrow should be sunny and the winds will be light from the SW and pick up to 15- 20 kts in the afternoon. Have fun!
Today has not been as hot. The wind is from the E and feels so much better. Today's fishing report is, Avon has had sea mullet, bluefish and a few mackerel. The south beach I didn't hear of any fish. Rain is in the forecast, but maybe we will miss all of it. Have a great night.
Well, for International Fishing Day, the fishing has been lousy. Interesting week though. Cobia from the Avon Pier, Mahi off of ramp 44. The winds have picked up to SW at 20 kts. This morning was cloudy and then when the sun came out it was HOT. Catches reported today were of Pompanos and some Sea Mullets. A 9 year old boy caught a 30" Red Drum behind the motels here in Buxton. There are lots of people walking and riding bicycles so give them a break and use caution. Have a great time.
Today a fellow caught a Mahi Mahi, "Dolphin" from ramp 44! You can see the photo on Facebook through my home page, Ollie Jarvis. Also there was a boating mishap out in the Gulf Stream. Today people caught Bluefish off ramp 44 and Sea Mullet around the lighthouse. From Ramp 48 catches of Pompano and some Sea Mullet were reported. Someone caught a 38" Cobia from the Avon Pier today and a few Spanish Mackerel were also caught there. Please pick up some trash while you are walking the beaches looking for shells.
Today was Hot. Sea mullets were caught from Ramp 44 to Ramp 38. I weighed a citation fish from the Avon beach. Mark Lamphier from Va. Nice fish!! There were few sea mullet caught on the southern beaches. Didn't hear of pompano or spanish today, maybe Thursday. Thursday will be a light NE wind and not 100 plus. Have a great night.
