OLLIE'S FISHING REPORT :

February 28, 2017

Beautiful sunny day today.  The winds were from the south-west at 10-15 mph and the temperatures were in the mid 70’s. There were blow toads, bluefish and sharks caught along the Buxton beaches and around Cape Point in Buxton. More nice weather called for tomorrow, with a chance of storms later in the day.

February 27, 2017

Another beautiful day here on Hatteras Island.  We had temperatures in the upper 60’s.  The winds were light this morning, but increased this evening and blew around 12 mph out of the southeast. There were sharks and bluefish at the Point.  There were also some blow toads and sea mullet caught caught at the lighthouse in Buxton.

Today We had sunny but windy day with temperatures in the high 50's. They caught some 20' puppy drum down in Frisco on cut mullet. This is a good sign and they are starting to show up slowly. Also they were catching dogfish, sea mullet, blowtoads. So folks if you are coming on the island don't forget to stop by in DC and get your gear and supplies!!

The SW wind has picked up for the afternoon but what a beautiful day. The fishing was slow due to so much waves. At the point they caught sharks. Sea Mullet was reported from this morning in Frisco. Is it February or June? The weather is very warm. Today was in the mid 70's. Tomorrow should be the same with a light NW wind in the morning switching to SW in the afternoon and increasing to 20 kts. Another beautiful day. Right now it is calm. Winds are to be light out of the S Then SE to E for Friday at 6 mph. and in the 70's. Hello. What a beautiful day on the island! It was in the upper 60's with a light Easterly wind. Tomorrow is calling for highs in the mid 70's. There will be a light ESE wind at 10kts. People are catching fish too. The ocean was a little rough today but people still managed to catch Blue Fish, Red Drum and Sea Mullet. Good job. It should be a nice weekend...

Today was a beautiful day. Sunny, warm with a just a little NE wind. Right now it is E at 6, with SW tomorrow. Maybe we will get a big drum bite early.
